Aromatherapy Essential Oils for Muscle Cramps

These are natural healing remedies using aromatherapy essential oils for prevention of muscle cramps or providing pain relief during a muscle cramp attack.

 

Blend 1 (for use before exercise)

 

Mix 10 drops each of cypress, thyme, marjoram and tarragon essential oils to 1 oz of carrier oil.  Use this essential oil blend to massage the muscle cramp-prone area vigorously before exercise

 

Blend 2 (for use during muscle cramps attack due to overuse of muscles)

 

Make an ice cold compress with 4 drops of lavender essential oils and apply it 2 times a day on the affected area until pain is reduced.

 

Blend 3 (for use after the muscle cramp attack)

 

Mix 15 drops of lavender, 5 drops of marjoram and 3 drops of frankincense essential oils to 1 oz of carrier oil
