Herbal Remedies for Gallstones |

Agrimony
Agrimony is a natural astringent with diuretic properties and also a decongestant and thus is able to help eliminate gallstones. Put 1 oz of fresh agrimony plants into 1 quart of water. Bring to boil then let it simmer for 5 mins. Remove from heat and let it stand for 10 mins. Drink 4-5 small cups daily.
Couchgrass
Couchgrass is also know as doggrass. It is diuretic and anti-inflammatory for the urinary and digestive tracts. It also contains the property to dissolve gallstones. Put 1 oz of couchgrass into a little amount of water and bring to a boil. Drain the water out. Remove the couchgrass and crush it. Place the crush couchgrass into 1 1/4 quarts of water and bring to boil. Continue to simmer until 1/2 pint of water has evaporated. Add some lemon or a teaspoon of licorice for additional flavor. Drink up to 1 quart a day.
Dandelion
Dandelion is a depurative and diuretic that can help in evacuating the bile ducts as well as eliminating gallstones.
Caution: Do not use this remedy if there is obstruction of the bile ducts.
Wild Chicory
Wild Chicory is used as a tonic and a treatment for gallstones. It has intestinal antiseptic that can stimulate the bile secretions. A chicory herbal tea has been found to help dissolve gallstones. Prepare a chicory herbal tea infusion by putting 1 pinch to 1/3 oz of dried wild chicory leaves or 1 oz of non-roasted dried wild chicory roots to 1 quart of water. Drink 1 cup a day
