Herbal Remedies for Hemorrhoids or Piles

What are the symptoms of hemorrhoids?

Generally the most common symptoms of hemorrhoids or piles are bleeding especially during bowel movements, rectal pain or itching.  However since there are external and internal hemorrhoids, it will be beneficial to understand the symptoms of the different types of hemorrhoids.

  1. Symptoms of external hemorrhoids

    • Rectal pain

    • Hard, painful lumps caused by blood pooling under the skin

    • Streaks of blood seen on toilet paper especially after straining when passing stools.

  2. Symptoms of internal hemorrhoids

    • Rectal bleeding with signs of bright red blood seen in toilet bowl, bright red blood streaks on toilet paper or blood on stool surface.

    • Skin irritation caused by secreted mucus from large external hemorrhoids

    • Itching caused by seeping mucus from internal hemorrhoids

    • Discomfort and feelings of needing to have another bowel movement right after passing stool.

    • Severe pain caused by strangulated hemorrhoid.  In most cases, internal hemorrhoids are rarely painful however if severe pain occurred then seek emergency treatment.

If any bleeding occurs, you need to determine whether it is a hemorrhoid by consulting a doctor as there are some serious disorders such as dysentery, polyps, colitis and even cancer that can have similar symptoms as hemorrhoids.  If confirmed to be hemorrhoids, these natural healing herbal remedies for hemorrhoids can be safely used without any harmful side effects.
