Home Natural Remedies for Anxiety

Anxiety is a modern ailment and usually is a result of too much stress.  It has become so pervasive that most of us has come to accept it as a normal part of life and can sometimes even joke about it.  However, in reality, it is not joke when anxiety has you in its grip.  A lot of us do not realize that anxiety is not natural and that we do not have to accept it or live with it.

Almonds has been proven to be effective home remedies for anxiety problems.

  1. Place about 10 to 12 almonds into a bowl of water and let them soak for up to 6 to 8 hours.

  2. Peel and grind the almonds to make into a paste.

  3. Add the almond paste, a lightly crush small piece of ginger or a pinch of ginger root powder, nutmeg and a cup of warm milk into a blender and blend well.  Pour out and consume before bedtime.

Baking soda


Adding one cup of baking soda together with one cup of crushed ginger into a tub which is full of warm water and then soaking yourself in that water for about 15 minutes before sleeping will help you to relax and have a very restful sleep.




Cinnamon is another effective home remedy for anxiety.

  1. Just add one teaspoon of cinnamon powder into 1 cup of boiling water, stir well and drink when cool

Sesame oil


Sesame oil is popularly used as a massage oil to massage the whole body to provide relief and prevent anxiety attacks.

  1. Heat up one cup of sesame oil until warm then massage the whole body with this oil.  Relax for about 30 minutes after massaging then only go for a warm shower. 

Note: Other good alternatives are corn oil, coconut oil or sunflower oil which are all equally good home remedies for anxiety.




Orange is effective as a simple home remedy for anxiety.  Just place some orange peels into a bowl of water and bring to boil.  Remove the bowl from heat and inhale the steam while covering your head using a towel.
