Aniseed

 

The seeds of the aromatic aniseed plant, also known as anise, sweet cumin or hua-hsian, are popularly used in cuisines and liqueurs as its sweet aroma can greatly enhance and provide a unique taste and flavor to many cooked dishes.  As a home natural remedy, it is effective in helping digestion, appetite loss and acting as a general tonic for the stomach.  It is also highly recommended for those who suffers appetite loss associated with overwork, stomach cramps or spasms.

  1. Prepare an aniseed infusion by adding 1 teaspoons of ground seeds to 1 cup of boiled water.

  2. Let it infuse for about 10 minutes before filtering.

  3. Drink only one cup in total a day but sip small amounts throughout the course of the day.

  4. Alternatively you can buy anisette which is a well-known digestive beverage.

Caraway seeds

 

Caraway seeds has traditionally been used in cuisines around the world.  In addition, it makes a great home natural remedy in stimulating digestive functions, aiding appetite loss and curing colic in young infants.  Caraway seeds are also effective in helping nervous individuals who are suffering from stomach pains and/or spasms.

  1. To prepare a caraway infusion, add 3 teaspoons of ground caraway seeds into a cup of boiled water.

  2. Let it steep for a few minutes.

  3. Drink 3 cups daily.

Ginger root

 

Ginger root is another home remedy that is effective for appetite loss as well as nausea, indigestion, morning sickness and constipation.

  1. Take 5 grams of ginger root and grind it.

  2. Mix it with very small amounts of lime juice and rock salt.

  3. Chew a bit of this mixture before meals.
