Juicing Recipes for Gum Disease

Grapefruit,  Tangerines, Strawberries and Lime Drink

 

A diet rich in calcium can protect against gum disease also known as peridontal disease and in some cases, can even reverse an existing gum disease condition.  Consuming citrus fruits can help ease bleeding gums.  Other nutrients found to also have beneficial results are vitamin C and magnesium.  Strawberries are good sources of vitamin C and good for our skin.  Both grapefruit and tangerines are citrus fruits containing calcium and high amounts of vitamin C and are beneficial in preventing bleeding gums.  Lime, another citrus fruit, are added to provide a nicer flavour to the juice and brings with it some lower amount of vitamin C.

2 tangerines

125 grams strawberries

Sparkling mineral water to taste

 

Remove the rinds from the citrus fruits making sure to leave as much of the white pith as possible.  Break or cut the fruits into large segments.  Place all fruits in the juicer and blend well.  Add mineral water to provide the extra sparkle.  Drink and enjoy!
